Communitas EU Ltd Outo Kumpu redundancies.
|
Communitas are looking to
provide a range of services for Community members facing redundancy at Outo
Kumpu:
|
• Communitas is working in partnership with the branch and management to
provide an on-site resource centre
• Matrix accredited Information
Advice and Guidance staff will be on site from 10th November to help you talk
through your options, and begin to decide what you want to do after you leave
the company. The advisors will be able to give you a framework for a C.V. and
will work in partnership with other agencies also providing this service. The
advisors will also signpost you to other agencies that can help you.
•
The Rotherham Learning Centre which is funded by Community the union is also
available for Outo Kumpu workers. Our fully qualified tutor, Pauline, is able
to provide a range of free computer courses from introductory to intermediate
level. You can learn at your own pace, and though many of the courses are
accredited, it is also possible for you to learn about computers and the
internet without having to take exams. Because the centre is funded by Community
the union, Community members will not have to pay to take any exams. There is
therefore a real value in retaining your membership after you leave the
company. Outo Kumpu employees who are not Community members are welcome to use
the learning centre, but will have to pay any exam fees or join Community to
take exams free of charge.
• Free short courses on lifestyle change
and financial planning will be provided in early December. This will give you
some information about lifestyle change, pensions and lump sum investments. You
will be able to ask questions, and will also be able to make arrangements for a
no obligation one-to-one consultation if you wish.
• Communitas is
also working with agencies such as Yorkshire Forward and the Learning and Skills
Council to identify sources of funding for re-training.
